Computing Facilities
The North of Ireland Family History Society (NIFHS) provides various computing facilities and records in its Research Centre at Newtownabbey.
Computers
There are several computers for Members to use. A miscellany of databases are stored on the computers.
Wi-Fi
Free Wi-Fi is available in the Research Centre for Members to use; log in details are readily available there.
Records
In addition to the paper based records (books, maps, directories and so on) the Society is increasingly making records available via computer for its Members.
- The Society has the All World Edition of FindMyPast, thereby making an immense collection of British, Irish and other records freely available via a desktop computer in the Research Centre.
- The Society has a collection of CDs & DVDs in the Office for Members to use.
- The Society is gradually making more of its record transcriptions and indexes to records available online, particularly some of its Church Records, Graveyard Records, Newspaper Records and Other Miscellaneous Records.
