Church Histories
The North of Ireland Family History Society (NIFHS) has a large collection of Church Histories in the Randal Gill Library. As well as listing the clergy, they often contain references to those members of the congregation who played significant rôles in parish life or fund raising. These church histories provide excellent background information on one’s ancestors’ lives at times when everyone regularly worshipped in the local church, chapel or meeting house, which, especially in rural areas, was the centre of social life in the parish. These books are for consultation in the Library and not for borrowing. For Members who cannot visit our Research Centre we offer a Look Up Service.
