Topography & Historical Maps
The North of Ireland Family History Society (NIFHS) has in its Randal Gill Library a number of topographical books about places and their names. In the main these cover the origins of place names and Lewis’s Topographical Dictionary and extracts from the Ordnance Survey Memoirs. There also some books of historical maps. Some of the more useful books are marked in bold in the list below. These books are for consultation in the Library and not for borrowing.
